Koronis Brewing Company cares about creating
a space that cultivates community,
fosters belonging, supports sustainability,
celebrates wonder and promotes joy.
Sustainability, belonging, and wonder are at the heart of everything we do, and we’re so excited to share this journey with you. Look for us to open in early 2025— it’s going to be worth the wait!
We can’t wait to welcome you to the Koronis Brewing family! #BreweryWithABoat
The Vision began in the fall of 2021 when Mary Peterson had a Super Stupid Triple IPA at Drastic Measures, a brewery in Wadena, MN while watching the Minnesota Vikings. Mary was excited to share her thoughts and dreams with friends from her hometown of Paynesville, MN. These conversations connected Mary to Eric Johnson, who was starting a brewery with college friends in St. Peter, MN called Paddlefish. Mary, a Lutheran Pastor in Portland, OR, and Eric knew they could not do this venture alone.
At the heart of this dream was and is community.
Having been born and raised in Paynesville, MN
Mary and Eric saw the value and the need
to bring the community together,
to create a business and a team of people
who could realize this dream together
for the sake of creating a space that
provides great beer and food as well
as a place to meet after sporting events,
for community gatherings, family reunions.
and other exciting events on the horizon.
This dream is made possible by
Laura and Alex Naujokas
who also value relationships, adventure, connection
to the land, sharing good food and drink.
Thanks, Laura and Alex, for saying yes!
Laura is not only the manager
for Koronis Brewing Company, she is also
our brewer along with Sibley Mattson who is
the assistant brewer.
Yay! for women brewers.
This dream is also possible because of our investors.
All of our investors care about
being in community and working with the community.
Together we are creating a legacy.
Together we have been working to
create a space that is fun, funky,
warm, cozy, and inviting.
All are welcome in this place!

Our story is all about connections.
Connections with one another and the land.
A fun fact is that Eric, Laura & Alex, and Sibley are all
Gustavus Adolphus graduates.
Go Gusties!
The brewery, located in Paynesville, Minnesota,
is along the North Fork of the
Crow River and Lake Koronis.
Many people are drawn to Paynesville
because of Lake Koronis.
Lake Koronis is roughly 3,000 acres and is known
for its fishing, boating, skiing, tubing, and wake boarding.
The lake is surrounded by a 16.5 mile paved
trail for biking and hiking.
Also, unique to Lake Koronis is the Koronis Kafe,
a houseboat that serves food and drink
on Second Island.
Koronis Brewing Company is a brewery with a boat.
A land-lake connection that is about bringing people
together for the sake of making the community
a better place to live and be.
We look forward to sharing in this adventure with all of you,
our beloved community!
